Alissa White-Gluz

Alissa White-Gluz (born July 31, 1985) is the frontwoman of the Swedish melodic death metal band "Arch Enemy." She was a co-founder of "The Agonist." The Canadian musician is renowned for her guttural vocals.

Since 2014 with Arch Enemy

Alissa began her musical career in 2004 by founding "The Tempest" as lead vocalist and songwriter, which was renamed "The Agonist" in 2007. After several successful tours, including with Epica and Simone Simons and Kamelot, she joined Arch Enemy in 2014, replacing Angela Gossow.

Alissa has a long history with Kamelot. Apart from the mentioned tours, she appeared as a guest vocalist for the band several times, including in the video for "Sacrimony."

Her performance with Nightwish in 2012 is legendary. When their then-frontwoman Anette Olzon fell ill during the US tour, Alissa and [Elize Ryd](http://Elize Ryd), frontwoman of Amaranthe, replaced Anette on stage in Denver.

In addition to her musical passion, Alissa White-Gluz consistently stands up as a passionate advocate for environmental and animal protection. She follows a vegan lifestyle and identifies with the "Straight Edge" movement, which means she refrains from alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and similar substances.
