BLACK GANGSTER DISCIPLE HIERARCY

David Barksdale, the leader of the Black Gangster Disciples; this set was started in 1960 on the Southside of Chicago.  David died in 1974, from six (6) gun shot wounds.  The sixth and final gunshot was fired by another member of his set, Larry Hoover.

Jerome Freeman, formed the Black King Cobras, another set closely associated with the Black Gangster Disciples , however he formed his gang in an effort to fight against the Supreme Gangster Disciple Nation, which was the gang that Larry Hoover formed after Barksdale's death.

After Barksdale's death the power was to transfer to Don Derky, but Hoover and Freeman divided the gang and went their seperate ways.  Hoover and Freeman became bitter enemies.

Hoover is alive and currently incarcerated in a maximum-security prison in Colorado.
