This 2003 BMW Alpina Roadster V8 is #537 of 555 examples produced and was originally delivered to Bavarian Motor Village of Shelby Township, Michigan. It remained in the care of a single family until 2020 and now has 17k miles. The car is powered by an Alpina-tuned 4.8-liter V8 paired with a five-speed Switch-Tronic automatic transmission and is finished in Jet Black over Sport Red and black Nappa leather. Features include a color-matched removable hardtop, a black soft top, staggered-width 20″ Ronal wheels, xenon headlights, integrated fog lights, heated sport seats, a six-disc CD changer, a Harman Kardon sound system, navigation, and air conditioning. Recent service included fluid changes and the replacement of the battery, power steering fluid reservoir, and front thrust rod bushings. This Alpina Roadster is now offered by the selling dealer with the owner’s manual, a window sticker, service records, spare parts, a hardtop stand, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.

The Henrik Fisker-designed Z8 drew inspiration from the 507 roadster of the 1950s and features aluminum body panels over an aluminum spaceframe. The Alpina Roadster was produced for the 2003 model year after standard Z8 production ended. This example is finished in Jet Black and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a black soft top. Additional equipment includes xenon headlights with washers, grille-mounted fog lights, front fender air extractors with BMW roundels, painted mirror caps, dual exhaust outlets, and neon taillights and turn indicators. Staggered-width 20″ Ronal wheels are wrapped in 255/35 front and 285/30 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires showing 2021 date codes. The four-wheel disc brake system is equipped with Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and the Alpina model received a softer suspension as compared to the standard Z8. Additional features include Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and All-Season Traction (ASC). Work performed in 2021 included a brake fluid change and the replacement of the power steering fluid reservoir and front thrust rod bushings.

The cabin features Sport Red and black Nappa leather upholstery that extends from the heated seats to the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include a six-disc CD changer, navigation, a Harman Kardon sound system, an anthracite headliner, a car phone, leather-wrapped roll hoops, air conditioning, and cruise control. The air-conditiong system was recharged in 2021. A plaque mounted between the seats indicates this Alpina Roadster as chassis #537 of 555 in the series.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel features Switch-Tronic shift buttons and frames an Alpina-branded gear indicator ahead of the driver. Centrally mounted instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an integrated analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 17k miles.

The 4.8-liter M62 V8 was shared with contemporary B10 V8 S and features double-VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, a double-row timing chain, and hollow camshafts. Alpina tuning produced 375 horsepower and 396 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed Switch-Tronic automatic transmission. Service in 2021 included coolant and oil changes as well as a replacement battery.
