No Reserve: 1993 Citroen ZX Volcane 1.9L 5-Speed

This 1993 Citroën ZX Volcane is a Colombian-market example that is finished in gray over color-coordinated cloth upholstery and powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2018, and subsequent work included a repaint, an engine rebuild, and overhauls of the brakes and suspension before the car was imported to the US in 2022. Equipment includes 14” alloy wheels, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, fog lights, body-color bumpers and trim, a power sunroof, power front windows, air conditioning, and an Alpine CD receiver. This ZX Volcane is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a 1993 purchase invoice, manufacturer’s literature, and a Texas title.

The ZX was designed by Bertone and launched in 1991. This example left the factory finished in Flint Gray and is said to have been repainted in 2020. The body-color bumpers and side trim are accented in red, and additional features include yellow fog lights, a single front windshield wiper, a power sunroof, a hatch spoiler, and a rear window wiper. The seller notes scratches on the front door windows, crazing in the taillights, and cracks in the rear bumper trim as well as paint chips around the car that are shown up close in the gallery.

Silver-finished 14” alloy wheels wear double-chevron center caps and are mounted with 185/60 Continental Power Contact 2 tires showing 2019 date codes. The suspension features MacPherson struts up front while out back is a rear beam with passive rear-wheel steering and trailing arms connected to transverse torsion bars. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes. Service in 2019 reportedly included rebuilding the rear beam as well as replacing the brake rotors and pads at all four corners in addition to the front wheel bearings and sway bar bushings.

The cabin is trimmed in gray cloth and features front bucket seats and a split-folding rear bench that can be adjusted fore and aft. Color-coordinated door panel inserts and carpets complement the seats, and the dashboard and steering wheel wear red accents. Additional appointments include air conditioning, a concealed Alpine CD receiver, power front windows, Sparco aluminum pedal covers, central door locks, ZX Volcane-branded floor mats, and a retractable rear window curtain. The heater core was replaced in 2019 and the air conditioning system was recharged in 2021, according to the seller. The driver-side mirror adjustment mechanism is damaged.
