This BMW E21 3-Series got away, but there are more like it here.

This 1982 BMW Alpina B6 is number 356 of 533 examples produced and was registered in Germany before being acquired by the owner two years ago and imported to the US in October 2022. The car is powered by an Alpina-tuned 2.8L inline-six mated to a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Polaris Silver with Alpina graphics over blue and green striped upholstery. Additional equipment includes Alpina front sport seats, 15″ multi-spoke wheels, a rear spoiler, VDO auxiliary gauges, a Pioneer cassette stereo, and an Alpina shift knob. Maintenance performed by La Jolla Independent BMW Service in California in November 2022 consisted of changing fluids for the engine, transmission, and differential, flushing the brake fluid and coolant, and replacing the engine mounts. This E21 Alpina B6 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner in California with two keys, factory manuals, Alpina Delivery and Confirmation Certificates, and a clean Arizona title in the owner’s name.

Finished in Polaris Silver (60) from the factory, the car was reportedly repainted in the 1990s. Features include an Alpina front spoiler, a rear decklid spoiler, a manual sunroof, twin exhaust outlets, and green and blue-colored Alpina graphics.

Silver-finished 15″ Alpina alloy wheels are mounted with 205/50 Uniroyal Rain Sport 5 tires. The suspension incorporates Bilstein shock absorbers and progressive coil springs, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The brake fluid was flushed in November 2022.

The cabin houses Alpina front sport seats trimmed in black cloth accented by blue and green center stripes with matching upholstery covering the rear bench. Equipment includes a wooden Alpina shift knob, black velour floor mats, a Pioneer cassette stereo, a driver’s footrest, and manual crank windows.

The leather-wrapped Alpina steering wheel fronts Alpina-branded VDO instrumentation consisting of a 260-kph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A trio of VDO gauges is mounted above the center stack that displays readouts for battery voltage, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 99k kilometers (~61k miles), approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The Alpina-tuned 2.8L inline-six was factory rated at 215 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. Maintenance performed in November 2022 consisted of replacing the engine mounts and changing the oil.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transmission. The fluids for the transmission and differential were changed in preparation for sale.
