What are salient features of the Echinoids?
  1. Sea urchins, heart urchins, sand dollars, sea biscuits etc. are included in class Echinoidea.
  2. The body is ovoid (sea urchin) or discoid (sand dollars) and covered with movable spines.
  3. Arms are obsent and tube feet bear suckers.
  4. Calcarious ossicles of the body unite to form a rigid test or corona or case. Madreporite and anus are aboral in position.
  5. Ambulacral grooves are closed.
