I would like to present myself – my name is Marina Khomutova, I was born in Moscow, Russia. Graduated Moscow State University, faculty of journalism. I have degree in psychology as well. I’ve been working as a radio journalist for more than 30 years – in Moscow, for radio Mayak, Radio Russia, Radio Nostalgie, and in London for BBC Russian Service. I have an experience as a presenter, senior producer, head of current affairs department, editing chief - probably, all possible position in radio. I have a TV experience as well - I worked as a press-review presenter at All Russian State Broadcasting company. Now I live in Luxembourg and happy to became a part of the team of Radio Ara. I like to travel - it is one of my hobbies. Also I enjoy mounting skiing and diving. And of course radio is one of the things which I love most of all)))

Today we’ll talk about linguistics, about learning languages. And what is the most necessary language in our Grand Duchy? That’s right, Luxembourgish. But learning it is more difficult than other official languages. There are many textbooks and self-study guides in Russian for French and German, and there are enough teachers for every taste – you can find a native speaker, you can also find a Russian-speaking teacher – there are a lot of proposals, because these languages ​​are spoken by a huge number of people all over the world. But Luxembourgish is a completely different story. Those who taught it know that there are not enough manuals and teachers. So today we have good news. A textbook of Luxembourgish in Russian has been created and today its author, Marina Kirshens, will come to our studio  and tell us about it.
