The role: Software Engineer, Browsers
The engineering team in Saint Petersburg is responsible for building the new generation of tools and technologies to improve the experience on the web. Supported by Google's vast infrastructure, the team regularly undertakes large efforts that directly enhance the online experience for millions of users on a daily basis.
Whether you prefer the ubiquity of Firefox and building cool functionality for it or shiny, new Chrome and making it even faster, you will have a chance to develop innovative features for both browsers. With millions of loyal Google Toolbar and Chrome users, there is always something interesting to contribute to and something new to learn. Requirements:
- A combination of BS/MS/PhD in CS or equivalent industry experience.
- Significant development experience in C++.
- Expert HTML, JavaScript and CSS skills.
- Strong interest in performance optimization.
- Experience developing browser extensions for Mozilla Firefox a plus.
- Experience developing virtual machines and software development tools a plus.
